Lots of lambs!
The first couple of weeks in February were busy here. Lambs, lambs, lambs. We even had one set of triplets. It’s a blessing and a curse (as Monk would say). One of the triplets had to be bottle fed. It was heart breaking to wean the little thing. Now, weeks later, she still run up to us hopeful.
We had lots of little helper show up at the farm. Our niece and nephew are in the picture below along with my daughters. Aren’t they cute!
Things are getting busy around here. Kids are finishing up their school work
and animal projects are getting going. Ryan had his second beef weigh in last Saturday. His Red steer is right on the mark but the black one is small. No worries. He always gets these steers fat enough by fair.
Have a great and sunny week.

Too Funny Not to Share
Have you ever wondered what homeschoolers do for fun? Check out this video staring Emma and directed by Ryan.
- It was another great Benton County Fair this year. The boys worked hard and in the end made a good profit on their projects. Ryan sold one of his steers at the Lee Allen Memorial Auction and Joshua sold a lamb. Special thanks to Stahlbush Island Farms and C & L Farms for buying the boys animals. In other big news, Emma won the best of class with her pickled quail eggs. Yes, you heard that right. The girl made pickled quail eggs. It is a recipe she got from her grandparents and it was quite a hit with the judges.Aleasha won many ribbons for her artwork this year and again one first place in cake decorating. The fair would not be so wonderful if it wasn’t for the hard work put in by the 4H staff and volunteer. Thank you!
